John Howard

The Hon. John Winston Howard, Companion of the Order of Australia, Honorary Doctor of Laws of the University of Notre Dame, Honorary Doctor of Bond University, was educated at Canterbury Boys’ High School and the University of Sydney. During the years 1977 to 1989 he served the Nation first as Treasurer, then in opposition as Shadow Treasurer, and finally Leader of the Opposition. The climb resumed in the early nineties and the ascent was rapid: Leader of the Opposition in 1995, and Prime Minister of the Commonwealth in 1996. Professor Weigel
Professor George Weigel, A Senior Fellow of the US Ethics and Public Policy Centre, is a Catholic Theologian and one of America's leading public intellectuals. He is the author of over twenty books, including the bestselling Witness to Hope, a biography of Pope John Paul II. Weigel has recieved 13 honorary doctorate degrees, as well as the papal cross 'Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice' and the 'Gloria Artis' Gold Medal from the Polish Ministry of Culture. Geoffrey Blainey

Professor Geoffrey Blainey AC is a distinguished Australian historian with a long career in academia. Among many other achievements, he was Professor of History at Melbourne University and Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard University and is the author of several works, including Tyranny of Distance: How Distance Shaped Australia’s History (first published by Sun Books, 1966) and A Short History of the World (Penguin, 2000). He has also served on federal government committees and has received numerous awards for his scholarly work. MP3 - The History of Democracy.

 

Dr KerFr Ian Ker, the world renowned Newman scholar, is Senior Research Fellow at St Benet's Hall, Oxford and has taught both English literature and theology at universities in Great Britain and the United States.He is the author and editor of more than 20 books on Cardinal Newman, including the definitive biography (1988). Fr Ker is also the author of The Catholic Revival in English Literature, 1845-1961.

Mr HaddadMr Robert Haddad has published a number of works including Lord of History Series (2002), Christ the Teacher Series (2004) and St Justin: The Case for Christianity (2009). He has also contributed to the Journal for Pastoral Theology (2008). Robert’s teaching experience includes 15 years at St Charbel’s College (7-12), 12 years at the Centre for Thomistic Studies and has tutored in Theology since 2007 at UNDA.

Rabbi Dr Shimon Cowen is the Director of the Institute for Judaism and Civilisation and Chair of the Social Policy of the Organisation of Rabbis of Australasia. He is also co-convenor of the Ad Hoc Interfaith Committee in Victoria.
